Welcome to Solhatten! »
Solhatten is a parent-driven preschool with two departments – Hattstugan for the younger children and Solägget for the older.
The preschool is in the same building as Margaretha school, situated in a beautiful location close to the beach of the nearby lake (Valloxen), and close to forests that give the children a rich exposure to the natural environment.
Solhatten is a Reggio Emilia-inspired preschool. Our philosophy builds on a strong belief in childrens potential and that they have an innate curiosity and drive to explore the outside world. At Solhatten, the dialogue and interaction between children and between adults and children, is important for learning. We work on a variety of small and large projects based on children's interests. The preschool environment is aesthetic, creative, dynamic and explorative. This environment and our approach encourages children to develop independence, participation skills, and to discover the value of being in a group.
To have their child in a parent-operated pre-school offers both opportunities and obligations. As a parent, you get a unique opportunity for insight into and influence over your child's development at preschool. At the same time this requires some effort and involvement in the preschool.
